My chosen lighting senario -

When experimenting in the studio i decided 'high key lighting' was the best option for me in relation to my idea. I'm also choosing a black back ground to go with the theatre style that I want to come across in my images, and I'm using the soft boxes to create shadows.

Tracey emin - reconstructing art-

Tracey Emin is an artist that often  reconstructs objects and situations from her own life in her art. In numerous projects she's taken emotional aspects of her life and reproduced them to  reveal intimate details from her life to engage the viewer with her expressions of universal emotions. Her willingness to share her intimate aspects of her life and secrets enables her to connect and relate to her audience. A good example of Emins work is her piece  - my bed, 1998. Here Emin has reconstructed her own bed in its full reality, she uses empty alcohol bottles, stained sheets and cigarette buts.  By showing something totally personal and real she is reiterating the fact that she is as normal as the rest of the world. Emins idea of reconstructing something from her own life is something that totally fascinates me and is something I want to try and do through my own work, I to want to show a real situation but in a controlled environment.

An inspiration from Gillian wearing -

Gillian wearings project 'How peoples lives come together into your own' was a great inspiration to me. In this project wearing spent a lot of time reconstructing her childhood living room in a large studio space. It is set up as an exact replaca and she uses a child to portray her younger self. Even though Wearings intentions for this project are somewhat different to mine, for instance here she is comparing how her living room reflects others and im trying to play around with the idea that we all live life as a performance, the concept its self is very similar. The fact that I too want to re create scenes from my own home in some way, but perhaps not to the degree she does.
